"A perfect cast that exceeded expectations. It might not be a live action baseball film, It definitely hits home with the die hard baseball fan as all the events that take place in the movie are linked to the game's past, present and what it will do for the future."

Oh You Know.
Duke presents us with his very first film review, the film he has chosen for this momentous occasion is 1983's "Brainstorm".
What up yo. I've been waiting for Duke to finish his first VoicesFILM article... In the meantime he continues to demonstrate his never-wavering commitment to the VoicesFILM Soldiers by sending us over flasks filled with his select blend of High Octane Gasoline This ones called "Borgmen" From the Wikipedia article: Borgman is a 2013 Dutch thriller film directed by Alex van Warmerdam. It was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. Drafthouse Films acquired US distribution rights to the film just over a week after its red carpet premiere. Looks great. Here's the trailer. Get some. […]
"While not as good advertised, Noah still delivers on Aronofsky's wild ambitions."
What up yo. Nothing's been the same since we lost Stanley. This just in from Duke. You're welcome. Staircases to Nowhere: Making Stanley Kubrick's 'The Shining' from Howard Berry on Vimeo.
What up yo. There's a few movie stars left. Like, real movie stars. Movie stars don't have Twitter. They don't post on Facebook. They are mythic beings that live among us. Like Sean Connery. Like Bette Davis. Like Marilyn Monroe. Like Cary Grant. Like Steve McQueen. Like Madonna (yea I know. Shut up). Like George Clooney. Like Angelina Jolie. Something about Angie man. Everytime a new trailer comes out for this film, I post it. Not because I'm a Disney fan. Not because I even want to see it. But because Angie tears it up in every damn frame. Duke […]
This is the film…This Is "Joker Rising"
What up yo. I have about as much desire to see this film as I did "Batman And Robin". I didn't want to see one frame of that film. C.G.I. I don't think it's convincing , I don't think it's ready for prime time yet, I feel like filmmakers want us to believe it because it's saving them money and because they're able to do things they couldn't do in the physical realm...but unless it's James Cameron or Peter Jackson...I don't like it. I don't buy it. It doesn't look good. It's ruining cinema. Give me some old school, "The […]

What Up Yo. Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For Few performances are as flawless as Mickey Rourkes performance as Marv in the original "Sin City" were. This film has been a long time in the making and now there is an official release date for the follow up...August 22. Don't let me hold you up. What up yo. So Duke has been riding me about watching this trailer. He sent it to me 5 days ago and since then has laid down suppressing fire of phone calls emails and text messages demanding I watch it. I'm not exaggerating. I gave in 20 mins ago and watched this trailer. Holy shit. This. Looks. Like. Bad. Fucking. Ass. Ambitious. Original. High. Octane. Diesel. Fuel. Drenched. Film. Making. My friend Duke.
Congrats to the winners, condolences to those who didn't win. They shouldn't be too discouraged. The Oscars are fixed. Any award show where the winner stands to profit millions of dollars is corruptible. The Academy Award has the distinction of being the crème de la crème of film awards. However more often than not, film excellence is not rewarded...playing the Hollywood game is. The truly innovative films, film makers actors and actresses who don't play by the rules, who prove to be too radical minded to be considered safe and sound representatives of the billion dollar empire that is Hollywood... […]
What up yo. I was catching up on a few new trailers last night & I went on over to HD-Trailers.net, which I consider to be the best source for high definition trailers on the net, & I caught this trailer. It rocked my face off. The film is called "Stalingrad". It's a Russian film, made on a budget of $30 mill, shot digitally (5K source) for IMAX 3D...the visuals look absolutely gorgeous. $30 mill. Dude. Michael Bay couldn't shoot this exact footage for $150 mill, and the film makers here made it work. Now, I haven't seen the film...I […]
David O. Russell creates another ensemble piece that has magic in every corner. The script is stellar , the cast is a knock out & the performances from Bale, Cooper, Lawrence and Adams are fantastic.
I want to send out love to the Ramis family, we all lost an immense talent today. He wasn't just funny, he was hard working and brilliant. Ramis wrote and directed many of the quintessential comedy films that would go on to influence and change Hollywood's understanding of the entire comedy movie genre and what potential it could have. The films he made would launch many careers and would inspire the next few generations of Hollywood's a-listers. The news of his passing is sure to devastate many in the film community. Take a look at a few of the films […]
Michel Gill. I walk away from watching the second season of the brilliant Netflix series "House Of Cards", and immediately I wanted to write about supporting actor Michel Gill. He did an amazing standout job playing the role of Garrett Walker, The President of the United States. There are some simply incredible performances throughout this series. The 2 leads, Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, are razor sharp here... Spacey is more at home this season, but he was on point the first season also....as was Wright. Here, they are now a combined force. They are Fierce, loyal to each other […]
I could go off here for a while about the beauty of Anton's eye, how he paints with images, how the black and white photography in this film shot by cinematographer Martin Ruhe is gorgeous and the entire film looked like silk to me, but I'm sitting in a parking lot banging this out on my iPad and I need to get back home. But listen. I didn't know much about Joy Division before watching this film. Then as it progressed, and because I have this crush on all things Great Britain (I'm going home to my British SwePea), I […]
