Chris Cornell
1964-2017
In Memoriam
I can’t believe I’m writing this post

"I never wanted,

To write these words down... for you.

With the pages...

Of phrases...

Of all the things...we'll never do.

So I'll blow out...

The candle,

And I'll put you...to bed.

Since you can't say to me now,

How the dogs broke your bone,

There's just one thing left to be said...

Say Hello To Heaven"

- Chris Cornell, 1991

Kurt Cobain
21 Years Gone
The Impact And Legacy

Kurt Cobain ascended the golden ladder, a ladder most will never glimpse.
He he climbed to the very top...and saw a curtain, behind which he always thought would be his salvation.
He reached over the ladder and peaked behind...
And for whatever reason...
After years of imaging the solace he might find....
Whatever Kurt saw back there...
He didn’t want to take another step after that...

He just wanted off the ladder by any means necessary.

"As they speed through the finish, the flags go down.
The fans get up...and they get out of town.
The arena is...empty except for 1 man, still driving and striving as fast as he can. "

Joy Division

From Anton Corbijn’s
Control

That's what watching this film was doing to me...it was a beautiful love letter to Joy Division, and when the film ended...I went on a Joy Division frenzy for a few months.

Some movies have those magic scenes that give you chills. That speak to your soul. To your heart.
The scene below...pure magic I wanted to share with you.

Pearl Jam
The Momma-Son Tape

Here's a little clip from "Pearl Jam 20", the documentary film from Cameron Crowe.
The "Mama-Son" tape refers to the instrumental containing versions of what would become "Once" "Alive" & "Footsteps". Eddie Vedder received the tape from his friend, former Chili Peppers drummer and future short-term PJ drummer (Yield) back in 1990.

Grease
Is The Word

Grease
The film musical starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John was a blockbuster in the theaters in 1978, and is now iconic 40 years later.
A feat very few films can claim.
