What Up Yo.
Based on the play by Larry Kramer, Ryan Murphy, HBO & Brad Pitts Plan B Entertainment gave us a powerhouse of a film.
A tour de force. A wonderfully potent and brave statement. I love that the film exists, that HBO & Plan B stood up and put it out there.
I’m in the middle of watching it right now…
And it’s rocking my face off.
Ruffalo is excellent here, giving it all. Roberts strips down and gives a primal performance, endearing and honest. Alfred Molina, Matt Bomer, Taylor Kitsch…they all stand out.
The cinematography by Daniel Moder is brilliant as soon as the first frame pops up. Vivd and alive.
Sweeping. Tight and personal, grand and sleek.
It’s message is harrowing, the pleading for help is a personal one that intensifies as the films story, about the outbreak of the AIDS virus in NYC in the early 1980’s progresses forward.
HBO And Pitts Plan B should be proud.
And Murphy,
Ryan Murphy man.
He is genius here.
Bravo.
Bravo.
Bravo.
